Legal Blah Blah Blah

  • First and foremost, I do NOT work for DC Comics/Warner Bros and do NOT claim to speak on said company's behalf. All opinions expressed in this blog are my own. Please direct questions about DC Comics publishing schedules and business decisions to http://www.dcentertainment.com/#contact
  • All images on this blog (unless otherwise noted) are the property of DC Comics/Warner Bros. All images (not belonging to DC Comics/Warner Bros) will be credited (to the best of my ability) to the original owner and/or photographer. If there is an image on this site that you own that you wish to have removed, please contact me and I will be happy to cooperate. If there is an image on this site that you own that you feel was not credited to you, please contact me and I will be happy to cooperate.

  • Copyrighted images appearing on this blog fall under the Fair Use legal doctrine as outlined by the United States Copyright Law (section 107). Copyrighted images in this blog will be used in criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching and/or research with the intention of advancing knowledge or the progress of the arts through the 'addition of something new'. Additionally, as per sections 29, 29.1 or 29.2 of the Copyright Act of Canada, this blog exercises Fair Dealing for the purpose of research, education, parody, satire and/or news reporting.
  • The DC in the 80s webzine logo was created using a font created by Graham Meade. The font was created for commercial use and is regarded as free typeface.

  • The font appearing over the right-hand column headers was created by Roger White
"Despite what is said in the readme files associated with the fonts all fonts on this site are now public domain, whether used for personal use or for commercial purposes. All that I ask is that the source is acknowledged if you are using any for commercial purposes. All fonts are available in both Truetype and Postscript Type 1 versions."
  • The DC in the 80s left-hand banner was created using fonts created by Eduardo Recife. Its a freeware typeface, so you can share it with other people and use it for free. The font is copyrighted by Eduardo Recife, and prohibits the change of the font look as well as the sale of the font. The (poorly drawn) images on the left-hand banner were drawn by Justin Francoeur, but the characters of Starfire/Koriand'r, Lobo and Hawkman are all copyrighted by DC Comics/Warner Bros. These images are being used as parody/satire, as this blog is trying to parody/satire/emulate a 1980s punk/metal fanzine. Justin Francoeur owns the images, but DC Comics/Warner Bros owns the characters in the images - so try to figure that one out.

  • The DC comics logo is the property of Time Warner Entertainment. This version of the logo was affectionately known as "the Bullet" and was introduced back in 1976. It was designed by Milton Glaser and remained the official logo of DC comics until 2005.
